Hello and welcome! Let me begin by saying that I never set out to be a “hand-bag designer”, yet by life’s circuitous route, here I am doing just that! I won’t get into the whole winding road leading to this moment, but I guess the long and short of it is that I have always had somewhat of a compulsive need to create, and this is one of the paths that creative energy took. I like the idea of creating something useful and functional, and finding a way to bring some color and vibrancy into everyday life. For the most part, my design work satisfies those desires.
I never strive to be keeping up with the latest trends in design. If there is something going on that appeals to me, certain elements of the “style de jour “may be incorporated into my designs, but in general I do what inspires or pleases me, and hope that it will please whoever is out there searching for that very thing!
I was raised in rural N.H, and have been living in Boston since 1995. I lived for a couple of years in Montreal and have had the pleasure of spending a decent amount of time in Asia and Africa. The times spent outside of my own culture have, by far, been some of the most valuable experiences in my life. Those experiences have greatly shaped the way I view the world and life, and have certainly influenced my use and appreciation of color and design. You haven’t seen color until you have been in the midst of the mountains of goods in a Dakar fabric market!
I hope that whomever you are and however you came to be here reading this, you find something you enjoy, or know someone who would, and pass along the word. I strive to always create something that is equally functional as it is creative and aesthetically pleasing. Everything is made right here in Boston, crafted by my hands and those of the fabulous helpers I have, making all the production possible.
Keep an eye out for a list of up-coming events and sales. Feel free also to contact me through the web site (If you are in the Boston area, or a reasonable distance away) if you are interested in bringing together a bunch of your friends/family for a bag soiree…it’s always better seeing it all in real life!
